M Litt in UK (Master of Letters in UK)

An M.Litt or the Master of Letters degree is an advanced postgraduate degree which is given mainly in the humanities, liberal arts, and social sciences. 

An M.Litt degree can be both. It can either be a taught course or a research-based degree. But it depends completely on your university.

M.Litt is recognised globally and acts as a standard Level 7 postgraduate qualification which is directly equivalent to a Master of Arts (M.A.) or a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.).

International students can apply for scholarships and government funding to study an M.Litt in the UK. But your eligibility mainly depends on your university and if the M.Litt is offered as a taught or research-based program.

To get into an M.Litt program in the UK, you will need to have a First or Upper Second-Class honours degree (2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant Humanities or Social Sciences. Also proof of English language proficiency.
