Scholarship Overview

Honors College Discovery Scholarship is applicable to only Bachelors Degree students. This is a Merit Based scholarship. Honors College Discovery Scholarship award up to USD 30245 on a one time basis to various international students. The number of students to be awarded this scholarship Varies depending upon the university each year. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. In order to apply for the scholarship, students need the following documents: LOR, Essays and Official Transcripts. All international students are auto-considered for these scholarships when they apply for the courses that have scholarships

Scholarship Eligibility

  • No Special Restriction applicable.
  • Applicants must be admitted to honors college as freshman.
  • The application is available to any student with a 24+ ACT (1160 SAT) and 3.5+ GPA.
  • Students who do not meet these benchmarks but who believe that the Honors College is right for them should reach out to coordinator of recruitment.
  • Standardized test scores earned through December will be considered.
  • SAT scores are converted to the equivalent ACT score based on the testing concordance in place at the time of the testing date..

  • Two letters of recommendation from teachers
  • Two essays (minimum 400 words each)- REQUIRED ESSAYS: You must submit TWO essays (a minimum of 400 words each) in response to the prompts below
  • Both essays should be thoughtfully and carefully executed
  • There is no “right answer.” ESSAY #1: REQUIRED – Respond to the following prompt. Watch a brief video introduction to the Honors College experience: video link. The “word cloud” presents a number of characteristics that have led our students to success at the Honors College and that we look for in our Honors applicants
  • Pick one of these essential qualities and tell us about a specific life experience you’ve had which you believe illustrates this trait
  • Then tell us how you see this trait serving you in the Honors College. ESSAY #2: REQUIRED - Choose ONE of the prompts below and respond accordingly: Writing about where we’re from encourages reflections about our lives and how we become who we are
  • Tell us about a place that represents home for you, how you see college influencing your understandings of this place, and whether or not you believe you will want to return to that place after college and why. Write anything you like inspired by the following word: Blue.
