At West Chester University, transfer admittance is open to all students who have attended the post-secondary institution after completion of high school or enrolled with the university on a non-degree basis. The university strongly recommends transfer applicants for the fall semester to complete the application process early in the prior spring semester. If students want to make an application for the spring semester then it is suggested to complete the application process early in the preceding fall semester.

Students who are undergraduate and pursuing full-time course is defined as availing 12 or more credits. Graduate students who are pursuing a full-time course load are defined as taking 9 or more credits. If a student is making a complete change to their schedule during the semester either with respect to dropping down the full-time status or adding up to full-time status. Students must note that it can influence the amount of financial assistance they are receiving.

Students can withdraw from the class during or even after the add or drop period. Also, there could potentially be a requirement for the financial assistance that was originally awarded. It is in the best interest of the students to contact the office as quickly as possible for financial support in order to make the inquiry about the possible impact of a course withdrawal that may have been based on the individual enrolment status and types of financial assistance awarded.
