GREAT Scholarships 2024 Launched by UK for Indian Students

Overview of Great Scholarships 2024

The concept of GREAT scholarships was introduced for Indian students by the British Council in collaboration with the universities of the UK. It applies to the post-graduation programs at 25 institutes across the United Kingdom. It is an opportunity to grab from autumn 2024 in various fields of study. A total of 26 GREAT scholarships will be awarded in fields like Finance, Marketing, Design, Dance and many more. Each funding has a minimum value of €10,000 towards a one-year PG program for the academic year 2024-25.

The following 25 institutes have collaborated with the British Council for the GREAT Scholarships for this academic year:

3. Guildhall School of Music and Drama
4. Hartpury University
5. JCA London Fashion Academy
6. Norwich University of Arts
7. Robert Gordon University
8. Royal College of Art
9. Royal Northern College of Music
10. Sheffield Hallam University
11. Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance
12. University College London
13. University of Bath
14. University of Birmingham
15. University of Chichester
16. University of Kent
17. University of Nottingham
18. University of St Andrews
19. University of Stirling

Besides these, there are two more scholarships for law and justice with the collaboration of the Ministry for Justice.

Also, the funding for science and technology for the year 2024-25 in various aspects like artificial intelligence, and sustainable engineering are available.

The primary goal of these scholarships is to enhance the existing ties between the two nations by offering the course of each altitude. The UK is seeing a growth in the number of Indian student in the country to pursue their education.

Eligibility Criteria

To secure a GREAT scholarship, you must:

• Be an Indian citizen
• Hold an undergraduate degree
• Have an interest in the proposed subject area
• Meet the English language criteria of the UK university

There are few other needs that a scholar must fulfil. These are as follows:

• Maintain touch with the UK as a scholar via personal and academic fulfillment
• Be eager to attend a networking event for all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and make perceptions of studying in the UK 
• Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and their HEI and act as an ambassador for the GREAT scholarships
• Be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about his or her own experience of studying in the UK as an alumnus of the GREAT scholarships

2. The procedure to apply for the scholarship is available in the scholarship section of the university web pages.
3. The application deadline for the GREAT scholarship depends on the institute. You have to look for the instruction page of the university to know more.
4. The scholars bagging it will be given information by the respective university.
5. The funding will be issued by the university only after the registration.
