The University of Birmingham Offers Special Scholarships Worth 10.52 Crores To Indian Students

According to a recent update, the University of Birmingham (UOB) has announced a scholarship series for Indian students worth more than £1 million. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) Professor Robin Mason says: The scholarship is in regard to the importance of Indian minds in the global student community and commitment to India as a strategic partner.

The UoB is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world and is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of UK universities.

As per the data provided, UOB for the academic calendar of 2024-25 categorized scholarships for specific academic fields into merit-based and automatic awards. The fields include Business, Computer Science, Arts, Law; Environmental and geography, Earth, Physical Sciences; and Environmental Sciences.

Every year 120,000 Indian students fly to the UK in search of better academic and job opportunities. With the recent development in scholarship programmes, it is a possibility that India might be under threat of a brain drain.

• UG Outstanding Achievement Scholarships: 20 awards x £4,000 per award 
• PG: India Chancellor Scholarship: 15 awards x £2,000 per award
• Global Masters Scholarships (Automatic): £2,000 scholarships per award
• DeepMind Scholarships for Computer Science: 3 awards x £52,565 per award
• GREAT Scholarships 2024: £10,000 award to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study at the University
• The GEES Global Futures Scholarship (India): £2,000 scholarships per award
• Million Pound Scholarship Fund for Business School Master's Students
