Deakin University, a distinguished Australian educational institution, is ranked among the top 1% of universities worldwide. The University has recently announced the launch of the Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program (VSMSP) 2024 for Indian students. These scholarships are offered as part of the ‘Changing Lives’ initiative. Discovering Deakin’s eleventh year of offering scholarships and bursaries for young and ambitious Indian students. The University’s Vice Chancellor Professor Lain Martin said that he was proud to continue nurturing Deakin’s relationship with India, The Vice Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program is one example of this continued commitment.

This year, Deakin University is offering 100% tuition fee waiver scholarships. Each valued at over INR 60 million, given to deserving Indian students for the full duration of study while being onshore at a Deakin campus in Victoria, Australia. Moreover, Deakin stands as the world’s top-ranked sport science school and ranks seventh worldwide for sports relates studies; 2024 will see one scholarship dedicated to a sports study. Moreover, “Deakin’s dedication to supporting Indian students gain a world-class qualification so that they can give back to the Indian communities in the long term”, Professor Martin said.

Scholarship recipients will also get benefit from being a part of the Vice Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP). As, VCPEP provides students with networking opportunities to represent themselves and the University in prestigious forums engaging with government officials, corporate leaders, and academics. Moreover, the scholarships are available to Indian students who qualify for the selection process conducted by the Deakin South Asia office based in New Delhi.

Eligibility Requirements for the Scholarship

Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements, whereby the selection will engage in an application review, online interviews, and in-person panel interviews in the presence of representatives from the industry.

For Undergraduate Courses

  1. Students residing in India
  2. 85% and above in year 12 scores from CBSE/ICSE/State Board
  3. Students taking year 12 can submit their predicted scores when applying. However, the final selection will be based on actual results.
  4. English language proficiency as per requirements for the course/area of study at Deakin University
  5. Significant achievements in co-curricular activities.

For Postgraduate Courses

  1. Students residing in India
  2. 85% overall in year 12 scores from CBSE/ICSE/State Board
  3. 80% and above in an undergraduate degree
  4. English language proficiency as per requirements for the course/area of study at Deakin University

  6. A commitment to give back to the community.
