The University of Strathclyde Law School has launched new LLM Law, Technology and Innovation courses for international students. The course offers a range of legal and technological skills, taught by subject professionals. Graduates will learn about the legal framework governing the worldwide creation, development, and transmission of technology while having the chances to construct their own technological ventures.
Students will explore issues related to innovation and leadership in the context of automated decision-making. Also, learn about algorithmic regulation driven by AI, machine learning, big data and other advances in computer development. So, there will be opportunities to learn coding languages and gain a better understanding of algorithmic bias. Elective syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as including coding for lawyers and legal applications, statistics and machine learning for lawyers, Cyber security law, the economics of digital markets, human rights and digital technologies etc.

The LLM Law, Technology and Innovation course may be completed over one year (full-time). Upon successful completion of six modules and a summer project, the LLM degree will be awarded to students. Summer project will include options such as dissertation, internship, consultancy, enhanced research proposal, or coding project, indulging students to strengthen their learning experience to their interests and career goals.
In addition, students might seek to conduct an internship or consultation as their summer project rather than a dissertation. Scholars will spend a minimum of 100 hours working for or embedded with an external organisation; specific arrangements will differ depending on the needs of the organisation. Learners will also have the opportunity to build basic technology projects, and can then go to make more advanced technology project as their summer project in preference to a dissertation.
