IELTS Registration - Offline Method
Although most of the aspirants prefer online IELTS registration, but there are three offline method which you can use for IELTS registration.
Method 1:
- Candidates can fill out the registration form on the computer available at the IELTS office and pay the fees. Through this, they will get immediate confirmation for the seat.
- They must submit a copy of the passport’s first and last page and observation page, if any.
- They must thoroughly read the T&C document and submit a duly signed one.
Method 2:
- Candidates must fill out the registration form available at the IELTS office/input node.
- They must thoroughly read the T&C document and submit a duly signed one.

- They have to pay the IELTS fees by debit/credit card.
- After the payment, the staff will submit the form on the online registration system and provide a tentative reservation for the seat.
Method 3:
- Step 1: Download the application form or obtain it from an IDP branch.
- Step 2: Complete the form, and sign the Terms & Conditions.
- Step 3: Submit a photocopy of your Passport.
- Step 4: Pay the IELTS exam fee with Demand Draft/ICICI Deposit/HDFC Deposit Slip.

Key Points to Reschedule
- Rescheduling is feasible if your test date is at least 15 days away.
- No reason is required if your test date is after 34 days or more.
- A test date transfer incurs an administrative charge of INR 3,300, inclusive of all taxes.
Steps to Reschedule
- Log in to your official account.
- Download the “Transfer, Cancellation Application Form”.
- Opt for the “transfer” option in the “Request for Transfer/Cancellation” section.
- Fill in the required details.
- Upload essential supporting documents, such as medical certificates, death/cremation certificates, doctor’s notes, police FIR, and proof of passport renewal or immigration department receipts.
- Wait for acknowledgment after form submission. It usually takes 3 days.
- You will get confirmation of your new test date via email and SMS.
- Proceed to book the newly approved test dates and location.
Cancelling
The test taker can even cancel the IELTS exam registration. They need to provide the supporting documents for the same. Know the steps and policies below.
Steps to Cancel IELTS Exam
A candidate can cancel the exam by following these simple steps.
- Visit the main IELTS website and log in to your ID.
- Select the cancellation option from the provided list.
- Submit the required documents and valid reasons for canceling the test.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- The cancellation requests are accepted only if your test is after 15 days.
- You need to provide supporting documents for test dates falling between 15-34 days or for payments made through offline modes.
- Once cancellation is approved, expect a refund within 8-10 business days, excluding the administrative charges.
Re-Checking Fees

ATRF
It stands for Additional Test Report Form. A candidate can send the 5 score card for free to their desired universities. The score card of the language test is one of the crucial document. It determines your understanding of English. In case, you want to send more than that, pay INR 250 each time. Moreover, there is a daily limit of five universities for ATRFs. You can login your official account after 24 hours to add more institutions after submitting your initial reports.
Process After The IELTS Exam Registration
All the candidates who have done their IELTS registration through online mode will receive a confirmation mail about the payment. After receiving this mail, your registration will be confirmed, and they will also get preparation material.
Those candidates who have applied through the offline mode will receive a confirmation receipt, access details and test material within seven days. These documents need to be kept safe till the end.
Important Information For IELTS Registration
- Candidate must be above 16 years of age to appear for the test.
- All the information on the IELTS exam registration form and passport must be exactly the same.
- Candidates are required to carry a passport on the day of the test as identity proof.
You must choose the exam date at least 3-4 months before the university application. It will let you retake the test if it does not go well in the first take before the application closes.
