Answering from background knowledge rather than the passage is the most damaging mistake. Options that are factually correct but not supported by the passage are marked wrong train yourself to find every answer in the text, not in your head.
 

Build your foundations by strengthening academic vocabulary from the Academic Word List, grammar collocations, and reading speed. Reading publications like The Hindu, BBC, or The Guardian daily helps significantly.
